Neiman Marcus Group (Dallas) experienced a data breach that has potentially impacted more than 4.6 million customers, according to WWD. Customers’ personal information including names, payment card numbers, login information and gift cards were part of the data affected.

According to Neiman Marcus, of their 5 million customers, 3.1 million had virtual payment cards and gift cards impacted by the breach. 85 percent of these cards were already expired or invalid and no active credit cards were reportedly impacted.

Neiman Marcus is working closely with online cyber-security expert Mandiant (Milpitas, Calif.) to track down any potential customer information being sold on the dark web. At this time, no Neiman Marcus information has been found on the dark web.

“We are working hard to support our customers and answer questions about their online accounts,” said CEO Geoffroy van Raemdonck of Neiman Marcus Group, according to WWD. “We will continue to take actions to enhance our system security and safeguard information.”
