Netflix (Los Gatos, Calif.) announced its plans to debut a new “high-stakes” competition series with a working title, “Win the Mall,” the streaming service recently announced. The show will transform an American shopping mall into a strategy game where 10 teams of retail industry experts will play against each other in order to “gain control of storefronts, increase their spending power and outmaneuver their rivals,” according to Netflix.

“This show is for anyone who ever dreamed of what it would be like to call a shopping mall your home,” says Jimmy Fox, Executive Producer and EVP, Head of Unscripted Development & Sales at London-based Fremantle – the company set to produce the series for Netflix. “You go to a mall for two reasons: to shop and to socialize. You’ll have to excel at both in order to ‘Win the Mall.’ ”

A release date has not yet been announced. This new game show will join the line-up of other recent competition titles created by the streaming service including “Squid Game: The Challenge,” “Million Dollar Secret,” and more.
