The Cordish Cos. has broken ground on the $270 million Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, which will offer several upscale eateries when it opens in 2025. The complex’s dining options will include Sports & Social and PBR Cowboy Bar, Luk Fu, an Asian restaurant and an as-yet-unnamed fine dining steakhouse.

“Today marks an incredibly special day for my family and The Cordish Companies as we continue to expand our Live! brand in the Southeast region of the country with the development of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana,” said Chairman Jon Cordish. “With the first land-based casino in the market, Live! Casino will be a transformative development that will bring a first-class gaming and entertainment experience to millions of visitors, create significant new jobs, and generate millions of dollars in economic benefits for the community for generations to come…”

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is being built on the former Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel site in Bossier City. Other major features of the new complex will include more than 47,000 square feet of gaming space, an upscale 550-room hotel with a resort pool/fitness center and a 25,000-square-foot event center for entertainment, meetings, conventions and other meetings.

Other Cordish Cos. destinations include the Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos in Hollywood and Tampa, Fla. and Live! Casino & Hotel sites in Hanover, Md., Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
