Retail entrepreneur George Davies is introducing a 60-branch childrenswear chain in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The project will be a joint venture with Fawaz Alhokair Group, a Saudi Arabian property and retail business that is the largest owner of shopping malls, while also operating more then 750 fashion stores, including franchises for Zara, Banana Republic and Marks and Spencer.

While Davies is credited as the founder of Next and George at Asda, the new Middle East chain will represent the first time he has launched an entirely new retail venture overseas.

“I've been asked many times to do another George abroad,” says Davies, reports The Telegraph. “It's not that I didn't want to but the creative side of me wanted to do something a little bit different.”
