New President at Shaw’s

Nicola DiFelice was formerly head marketing executive

Albertsons Inc. (Boise, Idaho) has named Nicola DiFelice president of its Shaw’s division (West Bridgewater, Mass.).

DiFelice, an 18-year veteran of Shaw’s and Sainsbury’s (London), succeeds Paul Gannon, who was named Albertsons’ new chief marketing officer last week.

Shaw’s is a standalone division of Albertsons with 207 stores across six New England states, operating under both the Shaw’s and Star Market banners.

DiFelice most recently served as senior vp of marketing at Shaw’s. Prior to that, she held positions of increasing responsibility in procurement, category management and merchandising.

“We are excited that Nicola will lead Shaw’s into the next phase of the company’s growth cycle,” said Albertsons chairman, ceo and president Larry Johnston. “Over a distinguished 18-year career, she has developed a strong track record of results that included some of the most exciting programs in the company’s history. Her creative mind, strong cross functional background and experiences at both Shaw’s in the U.S. and Sainsbury’s in the U.K. will prove invaluable to the business moving forward.”
