CARHARTT (DEARBORN, MICH.) opened its first New York flagship in the Flatiron District in October. Founded in 1889 and known for its heavy-duty workwear, the retailer chose the Flatiron District for its 5000-square-foot flagship based on the neighborhood’s community heritage of skilled tradespeople. Carhartt maintained the building’s original columns and included graphic design nods to the city throughout. The New York flagship marks the 57th location for the retailer with recent openings in Memphis and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
