Dior's Madison Avenue flagship is a blend of modern architecture and eye-catching VM.

LUXURY RETAILER DIOR (Paris) opened its House of Dior flagship on New York’s Madison Avenue in August. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the flagship blends classic Dior style and clean modernist architecture. The stairwell is decorated with a diorama showcasing a rainbow of miniature models of Dior’s dresses, handbags, perfume bottles and hats. The flagship features refined materials, including white oak floors at the entrance and in the women’s areas, golden oak floors in the men’s areas, Venetian plaster and hand-painted silk wallcoverings. A high-reaching column wrapped in live plants and abstract flower paintings honors Christian Dior’s beloved gardens. (You can read more about Dior’s recent flagship on vmsd.com in a blog written by New York Editor Eric Feigenbaum.)
