ForeFront Eye Care recently opened a spa-like clinic and storefront in downtown Boston, offering a boutique experience that is a design-focused alternative to traditional eye care. Designed by Hacin (Boston) and constructed by Boston-based firm Corderman & Company, the shop and clinic was influenced by hospitality and high-end residential aesthetics to offer a serene ambience for its patients and customers.

Revered for its dry eye treatment and contact lens technology, the clinic first opened its doors in 1920. The recent rebrand and relocation from a basement-level space in Back Bay to a prominent street-level spot in downtown Boston signals a new chapter for the century-old practice.

The curves and shapes of eyewear inspired the design elements in the space such as the circular rugs, rounded light fixtures and mirrors and a custom millwork display that evokes the contoured arms of a pair of glasses. A curved wall and stairway guide patients from the main retail area to the exam rooms above, blending functionality with elegance and serenity.
