ITALIAN FASHION RETAILER Max Mara (Reggio Emilia, Italy) opened its revamped Paris flagship on Avenue Montaigne to celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary.

The two-floor, 2444-square-foot flagship features a neutral yet warm color palette, inspired by the brand’s Teddy coat, to convey a sense of comfort and security to guests. Designed by architect Sophie Hicks, the new interior emphasizes unobstructed sightlines and structural elements and includes an orange double-helix staircase visible from the street.

The interior used traditional Italian materials, such as terrazzo and marmorino lime plaster, as an homage to the brand’s Italian roots in Reggio Emilia. Inspiration was also found in Paris’ art galleries and landmarks to capture the city’s signature elegance.
