WITH A DESIGN AS flavorful as its ingredients, Saucy, a unit of KFC (Dallas), opened its first concept in Orlando, Fla., as a tech-forward, brand-immersive dining experience. Upon arrival, customers can choose how they order, including personalizing their meals on digital kiosks. Meanwhile, technology in the back-of-house enables efficient operations for team members and a computer program uses a digital model of the restaurant to run real-world simulations, crafting algorithms to inform ideal temperature and cook time. Designed in collaboration with Rowe (Columbus, Ohio), the interior of Saucy mixes and matches pink and red hues in chunky organic shapes alongside neon pinstripes. These colors and designs were inspired by the brand’s wide variety of sauces that have reportedly gone viral among Gen Z and Gen Alpha customers.
