JEWELRY DESIGNER AND RETAILER VRAI (New York) opened its latest store in New York’s Meatpacking District. Inspired by artist Donald Judd’s sculptures from the 1970s, the brand modeled its store after an art gallery, with bleached walnut display cases (fitted with non-glare glass) framing the jewelry as art. At the in-store “Maker Table,” guests can digitally visualize the cutting process for the diamond of their choice. Custom-made in Italy, the sleek table sits under a geometric light fixture and a ceiling-mounted mirror that reflects the store’s merchandise. The space features three VIP rooms for consultations and private viewings, and the display on the rear wall showcases VRAI’s 30 unique diamond shapes. Designed by Cass Calder Smith Architecture + Interiors (San Francisco), the white walls, soft lighting and geometric fixtures provide the space a timeless aesthetic.
