Two U.S.-based fast-food chains have detailed their blueprints for overseas growth. They are:

Taco Bell (Irvine, Calif.), which announced plans to expand its global footprint from the current 1150 locations to over 3000 restaurants outside the U.S. by 2030. Part of the chain’s new “Relentlessly Innovative Next-Generation Growth (R.I.N.G.) Your Bell” plan, new markets the Yum! Brands unit expects to enter include France, Greece and South Africa, with plans to accelerate growth in its existing U.K., Spain, Australia and India markets.

And:

Wendy’s Corp., which recently celebrated the opening of its 500th restaurant in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) Region. The landmark locale is in Nagano, Japan, and is owned/operated by franchisee Wendy’s Japan K.K. It bears the brand’s new Global Next Gen design, “which blends modern, innovative design with cutting-edge technology to enhance the customer experience,” the fast-food giant said in a news release.

The chain’s other overseas activities include opening its 160th restaurant opening in India and the first of 200 planned restaurants in Australia in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. Wendy’s also continues to expand in Europe, with development agreements for new restaurants in Romania, Scotland and Ireland – all set to open this year.
