The wife of a jewelry store owner in south Sacramento, CA, was shot to death during a robbery at the business.

The crime happened just before 11:45 a.m. Friday at Kim Tin Jewelry, the Sacramento Bee reported.

“Suspects are 4-6 males that arrived and left in two separate vehicles,” the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office stated on social media. The Bee reported that the suspects smashed glass at the store and were gone in less than a minute.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the shooting victim, who was in her 50s.

A Sheriff’s Office spokesman told the newspaper that it was not yet clear who shot the woman. The business owner fired toward the robbers and it’s presumed that they shot back, said the spokesman, Sgt. Amar Gandhi.

Police continue to investigate, and the suspects remain at large.
