A WELL-KNOWN adage in Peru, “entre pisco y nazca” means to enjoy the company of friends, family and loved ones. Embodying the message of its namesake, Peruvian restaurant Pisco y Nazca invites guests to its Reston, Va., location for a lively, community-focused dining experience created through bold colors and patterns and incorporating cultural details native to Peru.

Complementing the rich flavors of its menu, Pisco y Nazca is covered in energetic colors and eclectic textures. Cultured yet approachable, the main dining room was inspired by modern Peruvian architecture blended with ancient, pre-Columbian aesthetics, welcoming people in. “The dining room has bright and bold energy meant to be seen by passing pedestrians, drawing them into the space,” says Shannon English, Senior Interior Designer at //3877, the design firm behind Pisco y Nazca.

Its floors are patterned with geometric shapes, while striking bright teal tiles highlight the bar. In contrast, warm-colored wooden acoustic beams are blended with rounded light fixtures, providing ambient illumination and crafting a homey, inviting environment. “The bar area, paying special attention to acoustics, lighting, pattern and color, hosts the perfect gathering area for people to come together while embracing the restaurant’s Peruvian influence,” English says.

Biophilia is accented throughout the space, with vines weaving across the bar, planters hovering above diners and a custom window banquette detailed with greenery. Wide doors lead to the patio for guests to enjoy an indoor-outdoor dining experience. With design diversity matching the uniqueness of Peruvian cuisine, Pisco y Nazca invites guests into the vivid atmosphere that nods to both contemporary style and Peruvian artwork, architecture and history.
