The chicken franchise agrees to open 35 restaurants in Sydney

Atlanta-based Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits announced a franchise development agreement today with its franchise partner, Group Song Enterprises, to establish 35 new locations throughout Sydney over the next six years. The arrangement signifies the first Popeyes'development in Australia. The first restaurant is expected to open in December, and five more will be built by the end of 2001.

Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits is the second-largest chicken chain in the world, operating as a division of AFC Enterprises (which also includes Cajun Kitchen and Popeyes Cajun CafŽ).
