Price Chopper (Schenectady, N.Y.) has announced it will rebrand its supermarkets with new dining options, a new product mix and a new name: Market 32, a reference to Price Chopper's founding in 1932.

The company will spend about $300 million to convert more than half its stores to Market 32 in the next five years, according to The Post-Standard. All 135 Price Chopper stores will eventually make the switch, the company said.

Current Price Chopper stores in Clifton Park, Wilton and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, will be the first converted to Market 32 locations. Work began this week on the first new Market 32 store in Sutton, Mass. A second batch of conversions will begin over the next 18 months and include another 10 to 15 stores.
