Drive Shack Inc. (New York), owner/operator of miniature golf-oriented entertainment complexes, will open Puttery Kansas City on Sept. 14. Located in the city’s downtown Country Club Plaza, the latest Puttery puts “a modern spin on putting, re-defining the game with unique twists at every hole,” its backers say. (Country Club Plaza was singled out as one of KC’s “hot spots” in the 2-Minute Retail Tour of the city that ran in the July/August issue of VMSD.)

In addition to three nine-hole miniature golf courses, the adults-only, 24,000-square-foot venue features several bar and lounge areas offering a chef-inspired menu and craft cocktails before, during and after patrons’ tee times.

“We are thrilled to bring an innovative putting and culinary experience to the Country Club Plaza with the grand opening of Puttery Kansas City,” said General Manager J.W. Fisher. “We see Puttery becoming a go-to spot for the area’s competitive, sports-focused residents.”

Drive Shack also operates Puttery locales in Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.The company did not disclose if it has any future locales either under consideration or planned.
