(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – The Retail Design Institute’s International Design Awards, now in its 54th year, recognizes and celebrates the winners of the International Design Competition, Retail Design Legion of Honor, Member Recognition and Fellow of the Institute. Proudly hosted by the New York Chapter of the Retail Design Institute, this hybrid event was broadcasted live the night of Thursday, Oct. 9, from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
International President Cynthia Hirsch Ortiz, the Retail Design Institute, and International Chairperson Ray Ehscheid, FRDI served as hosts of the awards program, which included naming the Media Member of the Year, Murray Kasmenn, Group Brand Director, Publisher of VMSD magazine and Executive Director of the Shop! Association.
Kasmenn, a member of the Atlanta Southeast chapter of the Retail Design Institute, was awarded for his excellence in supporting the retail industry’s community. Kasmenn “embodies dedication to the retail industry. A passionate advocate for the retail design community and steadfast supporter of both the Retail Design Institute and PAVE, his leadership at Smartwork Media and the Shop! Association continues to elevate the industry. His dedication to uniting, informing and inspiring the retail world truly embodies the spirit of this honor,” said Dina Meindl, Managing Director, the Shop! Association, who introduced the member recognition awards.
