WITH THE HOPES and expectations that 2022 will see shoppers continuing to return to stores and merchandise returning to shelves, fixture manufacturers are responding with some of the old store fixturing verities: practicality, dynamic design, easy viewing and access, flexibility, merchandise density, branding, customizability, modularity and an array of choices.
The driving notion seems to be that meeting individual retailers’ specific needs is the key to the new year’s offerings. There will be innovative lighting options and, increasingly, digital capabilities, but the emphasis seems to be on solid engineering and customized finishing.
In the new retail world, however, manufacturers will also attempt to meet the needs of online retailers venturing into bricks and mortar and help neophytes, like dispensary operators, turn their spaces into workable shopping experiences.
