Sears, Roebuck and Co. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) will open the doors to its third Sears Grand pilot store this weekend in Las Vegas.

The 165,000-square-foot store will be on Grand Canyon Drive.

“Sears Grand offers busy shoppers a way to manage their lives and households more efficiently,” said Teresa Byrd, vp, general merchandise manager, for Sears off-mall stores. “We listened to our customers and designed Sears Grand as the ultimate solution for busy families. It’s the heart and soul of the Sears shoppers love — including the quality brands and services we’re known for — with an added level of convenience and ease.”

The store’s shopping carts will have a kid-friendly racecar theme and are equipped with cup holders. Price verifiers will be located throughout the store.

Sears said it plans to increase the pace of growth for its Sears Grand format, targeting three of the newly acquired Kmart locations for conversion. Including the previously announced four Sears Grand stores expected to open by the end of 2004, the company expects to be operating 12-14 Sears Grands at the end of 2005.
