Sears Expands Services to Travel

Online service allows customers to put trips on hold, pay gradually

Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based Sears Holding Corp. is launching SearsVacations.com, an online travel site offering vacation and leisure travel packages, including flights, hotels, cruises and car rentals.

Customers can use the service to put their vacations on hold and pay them off gradually or purchase prepaid vacation packages that can be financed over time. Vacations can also be purchased using a Sears credit card.

The move pits Sears against existing online travel services such as Expedia, Orbitz and AAA.
