Sweaty Betty (London) has opened its first two freestanding stores in the U.S., in Chicago’s Southport and Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown, and plans to open two added locales in its home country.

Until now, the brand was available in the U.S. mainly in Nordstrom stores, as well as at a select few Bloomingdale’s.

“We are thrilled to open these new locations in Chicago and D.C., which mark an exciting opportunity to connect with new communities and deepen our presence in key markets,” said Melissa Mullen, Global Brand President of Sweaty Betty. “We look forward to being part of these vibrant cities, supporting our consumers’ active lifestyles, and continuing to grow our global sisterhood.”

The Chicago store is at 3530 N. Southport Ave., while the D.C. locale is at 3251 M St. NW. Both feature Sweaty Betty’s collection of premium activewear, fusing feminine focused design and style with technical performance.

In addition to the two new U.S. locations, the 26-year-old brand is expanding its footprint in the United Kingdom, with new stores in Cardiff and Westfield London. Sweaty Betty now operates a total of 85 stores in its home country.

The brand is owned by Wolverine World Wide Inc., a footwear and apparel company whose brand portfolio also includes Merrell and Saucony.
