Advertising veteran Jeff Jones named Gap brand's vp, marketing

Gap Inc. (San Francisco) has announced the appointment of Jeff Jones as executive vp, marketing, for the company's flagship Gap brand.

Jones will oversee all aspects of marketing and brand communications for Gap, GapKids, babyGap and GapBody, reporting to Gap brand President Gary Muto. Jones was president and ceo of the advertising and marketing agency LB Works, a unit of Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett USA (Chicago), whose clients included Altoids, EarthLink, Gateway, Maytag and Starbucks.

Publicis Group had earlier decided to fold LB Works into the main agency. Jones plans to begin work with Gap on April 1, 2004.
