Target Inc. (Minneapolis) will open a Target-To-Go temporary shopping space in New York tomorrow, at Gansevoort and Washington Streets.

Unlike most temporary shopping spaces that take over a vacant interior for a limited time, the mass merchant is creating a pop-up facade where shoppers can go to order from 50 gifts, ranging in price from 99 cents to $249., at one of several windows. Purchases are then picked up at another window, wrapped and ready to put under the tree.

Target plans to keep the space open from Dec. 11 to 13.

Shawn Gensch, vp, marketing at Target, told Women’s Wear Daily that the holiday effort is a way to give urban shoppers a little bit of Target. “We’re always trying to reach our guests in new and interesting ways,” he says.
