Tops Friendly Markets (Williamsville, N.Y.) has reopened its store in Avon, N.Y., after putting it through a $1.4 million upgrade. The 47,000-square-foot store features enhanced services, an expanded assortment of products, an enlarged fresh-produce perimeter and updated decor.

Other upgrades include new exterior paint with refreshed awnings, veteran-designated parking spaces, landscaping, energy efficient equipment and LEDs both inside and out, solar-powered efficiencies, expanded self-checkouts, renovated restrooms and bottle redemption area, and new interior decor.

Store Manager Doug Linborg said his team is focusing on offering affordable, easy-to-prepare meal options, as well as providing some new additions.

“When it comes to freshness, convenience and variety, you’ll find everything here at your newly remodeled Avon store,” he said in a news release. “With inspiring products including a wider selection of domestic and imported cheeses, a brew market, healthy hydration selection, and custom cut meats by real butchers, guests are sure to enjoy all we have to offer.”

Tops operates 149 grocery stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont, including five that are run by franchisees. The Avon store, at 600 Dream Valley Blvd., is the 29th locale the chain has renovated; the grocer did not say if more store renovations are in the offing.
