Tropical Smoothie Cafe (Atlanta), a fast-casual chain that’s undergoing rapid growth, has debuted its first restaurant with a double drive-through.

Franchisee Rohit Patel is opening the uniquely designed location in downtown Oklahoma City, which features two drive-thru lanes — one standard and the other designated for online, third-party and curbside ordering pick-up.

With just a few in-restaurant dining tables, the small building footprint leaves ample space for multiple cars and quick pick-up services, the company said in a press release. “Likewise, the Oklahoma City location provides an experiential few moments for guests in the drive-thru lane, sending them on a quick escape by paying homage to the ‘Born on a Beach’ history of Tropical Smoothie Cafe with eye-catching visuals.”

Says Patel: “Not only is [the double drive-thru] layout a fantastic opportunity to meet the demand for digital ordering, the new model also offers more convenience and a unique guest experience.”

Tropical Smoothie has company in making a move toward double drive-thru locales. Just last week, the Jack in the Box burger chain made a similar announcement.
