Uniqlo Details Expansions in Three Major U.S. Cities

Brand opening stores in Boston, Chicago and New York in coming weeks.

Fast-fashion retailer Uniqlo (Tokyo) is continuing its push into the U.S. market, with openings planned for three major markets in the next month or so. Per a listing on the company’s website, the new stores are:

In New York:

Bryant Park: 510 5th Ave.; opening March 6

Williamsburg: 187 Kent Ave., Brooklyn; opening March 20

Union Square: 860 Broadway; opening April 3

In Boston:

Downtown Crossing: 399 Washington St.; opening April 10

In Chicago:

Magnificent Mile: 600 N. Michigan Ave.; opening March 27

Uniqlo currently has five locations in Boston and its suburbs and two apiece in the Chicago and New York markets. According to published reports, the retailer also plans for additional stores in San Francisco and first-ever locations in Miami and Austin.

Overall, the retailer has 78 stores in the U.S. and nearly 40 in Canada; the additions detailed above are part of the brand’s goal to have 200 stores in North America by the end of next year.
