Casual clothier plans 11 stores in country next year

Uniqlo (Tokyo) plans to grow its physical footprint in the U.S. by 11 stores next year, reports Fast Company. Four of those locales will be in the New York market: three in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood.

The company is also planning new flagship locations in Chicago and San Francisco, along with added stores in Seattle, Boston, Washington, D.C., and the Annapolis Mall in Maryland.

“Our strategy is about thoughtful growth—opening the right stores in the right places—while ensuring every location reflects our customer’s voices and delivers a meaningful, high-quality experience,” Fuminori Adachi, CEO of the brand’s U.S. division, said in a statement.
Here are the specific locales of the planned stores:

California
San Francisco: 801 Market St.
Illinois
Chicago: 600 N. Michigan Ave.
Chicago: Oakbrook Mall
Maryland
Annapolis Mall
Massachusetts
Boston: Downtown Crossing, 395-403 Washington St.
New York
Brooklyn: Williamsburg
Manhattan: Bryant Park, Fifth Avenue
Manhattan: Union Square
Manhattan: World Trade Center
Washington, D.C.
Georgetown Park: 3262 M St. NW
Washington State
Seattle area: Issaquah Commons

The retailer has also filed paperwork to open a site in Austin, Texas, Fast Company notes, but Uniqlo officials would not confirm it plans a store in that market.
