Victoria’s Secret & Co. (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), has closed its first and largest China flagship, at Lippo Plaza in Shanghai, Women’s Wear Daily reports. Shuttering the 9-year-old space on the Huaihai Road retail artery is part of the lingerie chain’s “relocation plan” for China, the brand said in a short statement.

“Currently, the company is actively sourcing suitable nearby premises to maintain the brand’s presence in the area,” the retailer said. According to local media reports, WWD says, Victoria’s Secret is eyeing another nearby location on Huaihai Road that will soon be vacated by Japanese retailer Muji.

“China is one of Victoria’s Secret’s most important markets. We have built close partnerships here and continue to expand our retail footprint,” the statement continued. “We are committed to empowering women and calling for attention to women’s health in China. This year we plan to open a number of new stores nationwide, reflecting our long-term confidence in the Chinese market,” the retailer added.

Overall, Victoria’s Secret has 67 stores in China, WWD reports; that includes four locales it’s opened so far this year.
