A new report from Black Box Intelligence and Snagajob shows that wages for hourly quick-service-restaurant workers has risen 10 percent in the second quarter of 2021 when compared to the same time last year, reports CNBC.

The move is thought to be in response to an overall lack of workers willing to work in the sector. Employee turnover rates are also up, making the prospect of finding workers that much more difficult. By comparison, wages for these workers rose just 4.1 percent in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the year prior.
