Walmart Plans Supercenter in Maryland

Walmart Stores Inc. (Bentonville, Ark.) plans to break ground on a new 152,888-square-foot Supercenter in Denton, Md., in September.

The store will feature typical Supercenter amenities, including a full-line grocery, bakery, delicatessen, frozen food section and meat, dairy and fresh produce areas. Merchandise departments will include apparel and accessories, sporting goods, electronics, home, fine jewelry, outdoor garden center and health and beauty. The store will also feature a Subway restaurant.

Walmart currently operates 35 stores and 12 Sam's Clubs in Maryland.
