Walmart (Bentonville, AR) and its Sam’s Club subsidiary are suing BJ’s Wholesale Club (Westborough, MA), claiming BJ’s stole technology from Sam’s mobile app, CNBC reports.

Specifically, Walmart says BJ’s copied its Scan & Go feature that allows Sam’s Club shoppers to ring up purchases in the app while walking through the store. In the suit, Walmart says it took years to develop the technology and claims BJ’s infringed on patent rights, causing “significant damages and irreparable harm,” according to the outlet.

The self-checkout feature debuted in 2016. Scan & Go has since been made available to Walmart shoppers as a perk for those who sign up for its Walmart+ subscription service.
