ON DECEMBER 8, 2022, VMSD attended the annual PAVE Gala at the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building in New York. In honor of PAVE’s 30th anniversary, the evening intended to inspire, connect and celebrate students, educators and professionals across the retail industry.
During the event, VMSD honored three retailers with our 19th annual Excellence in Visual Merchandising and Store Design awards, which recognize retailers whose New York stores support a visual merchandising strategy that enhances the brand image and highlights the merchandise; for daring to be different and coupling the nuances of innovative store design and the magic of visual merchandising.
This year’s winners included House of Showfields (Brooklyn); the NHL flagship store (Manhattan West); and Hermès (Madison Avenue). VMSD’s Managing Editor Carly Hagedon and New York Editor Eric Feigenbaum took to the stage to present the coveted crystal apple awards to the winners in attendance.

EUROSHOP
This February and early March, VMSD magazine will be attending the EuroShop trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany, the triennial event featuring a plethora of innovative retail products and educational sessions. Continuing on to Milan with the Euro a Go Go crew after EuroShop concludes, we’ll be reporting exclusive content during our time on the road as we explore innovative retail. VMSD’s Managing Editor Carly Hagedon will also be taking the stage at EuroShop to discuss trends in store design and visual merchandising, Feb. 27, 2023.
