The LF Joint Venture (Boston), a group composed of Gordon Brothers Group LLC, Hilco Brands LLC and Osgoode Financial Inc. doing business as London Fog Licensing Group, has acquired the London Fog trademarks from London Fog Industries Inc. (Seattle), currently in bankruptcy.
The company said it intends to license the brands in multiple categories, including luxury outerwear, footwear, men's, women's and children's clothing, accessories, luggage, eyewear, vehicle packages, rain gear, watches, leather goods, fragrance, sportswear, sporting goods and home goods.
The London Fog brand began in 1922. During the Second World War, the company provided coats to the U.S. Army and subsequently became known worldwide for its stylish, high-quality trench coats. During its 80-plus-year history, the brand expanded into numerous categories, including outerwear, sportswear and accessories.
“Our plan is to re-engineer the brand and reposition it for a dynamic entry back into the marketplace,” said Jamie Salter, principal, Osgoode Financial. And, said Stephen Miller, Gordon Brothers’ co-president, retail division, “we will focus on the brand's heritage and core roots while leveraging its strong image and global demand in multiple lifestyle classifications.”
The purchase is subject to bankruptcy court approval.
