A Second Cup of Coffey

Diedrich Coffee Inc. (Irvine, Calif.) named Stephen Coffey ceo, following the resignation of Roger Laverty.

Coffey had been a senior executive of Chevys Inv. (Emeryville, Calif.), a $220 million nationwide chain of Mexican restaurants; and president and ceo of Edwards Theatres Inc. (Newport Beach, Calif.), a film exhibitor. He founded Coffey Management Co., an advisory and management services company, in 1986.

Diedrich Coffee operates three branded retail operations with 206 locations in 33 states: Gloria Jean's Coffees, Diedrich Coffee and Coffee People.
