Abercrombie Makes Asian Debut

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (Columbus, Ohio) opened the doors to its first Asian flagship, in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, located in a 12-story building, joins other youth-oriented fashion retailers in the area, including H&M, Zara, and Uniqlo.

“The future of our business is tied to international growth,” ceo Michael Jeffries said during a conference call in mid-November.

The company is considering a second Japanese store in Fukuoka Prefecture and its first in Copenhagen, Denmark, next year. Abercrombie & Fitch has other flagships in New York, Los Angeles, London and Milan.
