Aeropostale Debuts Times Square Flagship

Aeropostale Inc. (New York) opened its flagship store today in New York’s Times Square. The 19,000-square-foot location, at 1515 Broadway at 45th Street, features two levels of shopping, including a dedicated space for a T-shirt Shop, a Dorm Room and a Jean Library. On the second floor, a Viewing Room allows customers an unparalleled view of Times Square.

“Times Square is the 'Crossroads of the World' so it's fitting for Aeropostale to open our flagship store here,” says Tom Johnson, co-ceo, Aeropostale Inc. “This is the perfect platform for our international growth and we look forward to introducing and sharing our brand with the millions of visitors and New Yorkers who pass through this great city each year.”

The flagship uses authentic New York decor, including metal and polished concrete materials, oversized subway tiles lining the cashwraps and an illuminated vintage Aeropostale sign. The store also offers an extended merchandise assortment, with limited edition New York City merchandise that will only be available at its Times Square location.

The store exterior features a custom 3-panel LED sign that can act as one sign or three independent signs. The billboard will showcase Aeropostale seasonal campaign images, promotional messaging and exclusive video content.

“There are so many fun and exciting elements to our Times Square store and our merchandise is no exception,” says Mindy Meads, co-ceo. “Millions of people will be treated to the Aeropostale experience of providing great teen fashion at great value in a fun and welcome approach to shopping.”

The mall-based, specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories for 14 to 17-year-old young women and men operates 903 Aeropostale stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico and 54 in Canada, as well as 43 P.S. from Aeropostale stores (for 7 to 12-year-olds) in 13 states.
