Amazon May Open Bookstores

Amazon (Seattle) may be on the verge of opening up to 400 bricks-and-mortar bookstores, reports Yahoo! Finance.

While the company has not confirmed the reports, which were first made by a U.S. mall operator, Amazon opened its first physical bookstore in Seattle in November, which could serve as a pilot for expanding the retail model into other areas.

That store stocks books based on the ratings they receive on Amazon’s website and also has a space where customers can test out Amazon’s proprietary electronics, such as the Kindle and Fire TV.
