Amazon Officially Opens First Clothing Store

Amazon (Seattle) has officially opened its in-person fashion retail store in Los Angeles, according to Reuters.

The concept is called Amazon Style and will feature new technology for helping customers and personalizing recommendations. VMSD first covered the ecommerce giant’s new brick-and-mortar foray in its January/February 2022 issue.

Using the Amazon Shopping app, customers can send items to a fitting room outfitted with a touchscreen to view additional options, rate items and request different sizes or styles to be delivered to the room in minutes.

As shoppers browse the store, machine learning algorithms make personalized, real-time recommendations, suggesting items that match their style, fit and other preferences.
