Amazon to Hire 2000 More Workers at Austin Tech Hub

Amazon (Seattle) will add more than 2000 jobs at its tech hub in Austin, TX, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

The new positions will include data engineers and user experience designers, as well as roles supporting retail and web services, the article says. Amazon already employs more than 3000 tech and corporate workers at the Austin hub.

The additional Amazon jobs are a continuation of Silicon Valley giants favoring the Lone Star State for expansion. Tesla recently moved its headquarters to Texas, and software maker Oracle has pledged to do the same. Also, Samsung says it will build a $17 billion chip manufacturing facility in Taylor, right outside of Austin.
