American Apparel Rehires Creative Director

American Apparrel Inc. (Los Angeles) has rehired its former senior creative director, Iris Alonzo, who was fired shortly after American Apparel founder Dov Charney was removed as the company’s ceo in June. Charney remains on the company’s board of directors and is said to have championed the reinstatement of Alonzo, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

The domestic apparel producer has struggled to find footing since its shakeup of leadership last summer. Insiders say the rehiring of Alonzo is part of interim ceo Scott Brubaker’s attempt to restore normalcy and “protect and evolve” the brand.
