American Dream to Open in 2016

The American Dream project in East Rutherford, N.J. is back on track with, according to developers Triple Five (Edmonton, Alberta), commitments from high profile department stores Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor to anchor a collection of luxury boutiques. Triple Five says FAO Schwarz will also relocate its Fifth Avenue flagship to American Dream, and that Cirque du Soleil will establish a permanent theater at the Meadowlands megamall. Fast fashion retailer Uniqlo is also said to be in talks with the developer.

Similar to Minnesota’s Mall of America, the developers say the complex will include indoor water and amusement parks, movie and concert venues, and an aquarium. According to NorthJersey.com, Triple Five conducted a tour of the site for about 50 retail leasing executives last weekend. The first part of the complex is expected to open in fall 2016.
