American Eagle Plans for Western European Expansion

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (Pittsburgh) has announced plans to expand into Western Europe after launching the initiative in London last year. The company currently operates locations across the Middle East, Eastern Europe and in Shanghai.

CNBC reports that critics have questioned why the company launched its Western European expansion in the U.K. rather than in the mainland, but the company retorted that the U.K. is a central sales location due to London’s trendy fashion scene.

The company has launched a new U.K. website this month to help with growth and is the company’s first location-specific site.
