American Eagle Shuts Down 77kids

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (Pittsburgh) is closing the doors on its young children’s retail concept, 77kids, shuttering 22 stores and its website 77kids.com, Women’s Wear Daily reports. The retail brand launched online four years ago before opening its first brick-and-mortar location in 2010. 77kids’ losses totaled $24 million despite $40 million in sales during fiscal 2011; American Eagle is currently seeking a buyer for the brand, according to WWD.
