American TV & Appliances to Close All Locations

American TV & Appliance (Madison, Wis.) is closed all of its 11 locations on Monday, eliminating 989 jobs. The electronic retailer based in Madison, Wis. that sells furniture and electronics, will close the locations in its home state as well as Illinois, Michigan and Iowa following a going-out-of-business sale.

Last March, reports Time, American TV had already made the decision to cease the selling of cameras, car audio systems and computers. In 2011, the company was also forced to close all four of its locations in St. Louis, Mo.

In a recent press release, the company blamed an “unforgiving economy” as the reason it was “closing its business forever,” according to Time.
