Marshall Field's, the department store division of Target Corp. (Minneapolis), has added an Echo Design Group boutique to its State Street flagship store in Chicago.
For Echo Design Group (New York), which designs and manufactures accessories and home décor goods, it will be the first retail outpost.
As part of Marshall Field's 150th anniversary celebration, it has been conducting a top-to-bottom renovation of its landmark Loop department store, adding several international vendor shops in the process. Echo Design Group is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
The 600-square-foot Echo store will include cold-weather “soft knit” oblongs as well as a variety of novelty velvet scarves and wraps. The company says the boutique has been designed with the Echo shopper in mind, with the “World of Echo” artfully displayed to inspire customers with their beautiful fashion accessories and home products.
“We're excited to have our first Chicago store in the renowned landmark Marshall Field's on State Street,” said Echo's Lynn Roberts, vp of advertising and public relations. “We're thrilled to be part of the innovative, hip scene Marshall Field's has created for their vendors.”
Echo licenses a complete line of wallpaper, decorative fabrics and trim, bedding, area rugs and throws, paper goods, bath coordinate ensembles and decorative pillows with such leading companies as FSC Wallcoverings, Kravet Fabrics, Revman International, Trade Am, C. R. Gibson and Creative Bath and Home. It also holds the licenses for specialized fashion accessories for Polo, Ralph Lauren, Lauren by Ralph Lauren, Polo Jeans, Adrienne Vittadini and The Museum of Natural History and creates customized products for many of the country's leading museums, corporations and retailers.
