Another Coach Arrives

Coach Inc. (New York) has opened a second Coach flagship in Tokyo, in the hip and fashionable shopping district in the Shibuya section. The 7300-square-foot-store, designed by Michael Neumann Architecture LLC (New York), features two floors and key stylistic elements of the North American Coach flagships.

“This store will be among our highest volume locations globally and will enhance our brand awareness and positioning with the younger and more stylish Japanese customer,” says Ian Bickley, president of Coach Japan Inc.

The Shibuya store carries a full selection of Coach lifestyle accessories for men and women.

In addition, the company has opened three additional Coach stores this spring in Japan, as well as a number of new department store boutiques.

“We are pleased with the new Shibuya flagship, one of ten net openings planned for this fiscal year,” says Lew Frankfort, chairman and ceo of Coach Inc. “It represents a key step in our strategy to broaden our appeal and grow Coach's market share in Japan — our largest growth opportunity outside of the United States.”
