Anthropologie Plans Bigger Footprints

Urban Outfitters Inc. (Philadelphia) has plans to roll out larger Anthropologie stores that will be roughly 2.5 times larger than its current store model. These stores will measure between 20,000 and 30,000 square feet, and will feature expanded home product, apparel, shoes and accessories departments.

The company also plans to add petite shops and, in some stores, adjacent dining options. The new store design will be introduced at the King of Prussia Mall this fall and will also feature an adjacent pizza restaurant.

The changes are meant to accommodate consumers who want “more variety and offerings – bigger everything,” reports The Philadelphia Inquirer. It also hopes that by introducing eateries into some of the stores, it will be able to extend shoppers’ visits.
