MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Meyda Lighting (Yorkville, N.Y.) promoted Max Cohen to sales manager of the upstate New York region, where he will manage lighting showrooms, electrical distributors and specifies.

STORE OPENINGS

AT&T (Dallas) opened a 3296-square-foot store in New Milford, Conn.

California Pizza Kitchen (Los Angeles) opened a 4000-square-foot restaurant in Mumbai.

Zumtobel Group (Dornbirn, Austria) opened a 2400-square-foot Light Center in Dubai, the company’s first location in the Middle East. The store is a showroom of LED lighting solutions for application areas including hotels, wellness and retail. [just keep it to our related audiences].

Triad Manufacturing (St. Louis) launched 8 Corners Retail Design in Suzhou, China. The strategic branding, merchandising and retail environmental company specializes in turnkey design, manufacturing, installation and project management services.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

St. Louis-based idX Corp., a fixture manufacturing, logistics and project management supplier for the retail, hospitality, financial and p-o-p markets, has acquired Lancaster Industries (Cuero, Texas), a custom fixture, furniture and millwork manufacturer. Lancaster ceo Herb Lancaster will stay with the company as the new vp, manufacturing at idX San Antonio.

Nora Lighting (Commerce. Calif.) released an 800-page product selection guide that highlights in-depth product and company information.

Pen Centre (Niagara, Ont.), one of the largest shopping centers in the Niagara region, will undergo an eco-friendly $13-million renovation that includes new materials and skylights. The project is expected to be completed by 2012.

Red Chariot, in partnership with Minneapolis-based PD (formerly Process Displays), has been created to offer a combination of solutions for retailers and brand managers. The company offers two areas, including an “en charrette” service and an on-site retail store. This design facility, complete with a branded retail store, will allow retailers to walk through a location and experience how sound, light, color, material choices, mobile devices and other elements can influence shopper behavior. The Retail Collaborative includes key partners who are available to clients to enhance each aspect of the process.
