Aventura Mall Announces Expansion

Turnberry Associates Inc. (Aventura, Fla.) has announced it will expand its Aventura Mall, beginning this year, with an additional 241,000-square-foot wing.

The developer says the focus of the expansion will be fashion, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

“Continued resurgence in the real estate market and tourism growth have led to significant increases in the number of affluent Miami shoppers, specifically at Aventura Mall,” said Turnberry principal Jackie Soffer.

The 31-year-old mall, which doubled in size in a 1997 expansion, includes Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s anchor stores and such fashion brands as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry and Breitling.
